Watts Contemporary Gallery
Watts Gallery’s Director, Perdita Hunt, has been nominated for the Business Women in Surrey award.
Perdita’s vision for Watts Gallery resulted in her co-ordinating a campaign to raise £11 million to restore Watts Gallery, as part of a Heritage Lottery funded project.
Today the Gallery attracts 60,000 visitors per annum and makes a significant contribution the local economy. The Watts Gallery Learning Programme reaches out to prisoners, young offenders and other marginalised people transforming expectations and self-belief and the Gallery also displays critically acclaimed temporary exhibitions as well as an extensive events programme.
Under Perdita’s leadership Watts Gallery has transformed from an ailing liability into a model of social enterprise with a turnover of around £1.5 million.
