Artist in Residence

From 2004 to 2007 the winners of the Winsor & Newton Prize have been invited to become The Fenton Arts Trust Watts Gallery Artist in Residence for one academic year. Leading a number of art workshops and community art projects as an integral part of our learning programme, the artists have provided inspiration to numerous school groups, the general public, artists with special needs and excluded groups through projects such as the Big Issue Workshops. The Artist in Residence scheme culminates with an exhibition of the artist’s work. In 2008 a separate winner for the Watts Gallery Artist in Residence scheme was chosen – for the first time, a ceramicist.
