Poetry in Beauty

Poetry in Beauty: The Pre-Raphaelite Art of Marie Spartali Stillman is the first retrospective of the artist's work showcasing her importance within the Victorian avant-garde. Bringing together some twenty landscapes, portraits, subject paintings and photographs – many of which have not been on public display since the artist's lifetime – the exhibition will demonstrate the quality and importance of one of the most admired women artists of the 19th century. Poetry in Beauty: The Pre-Raphaelite Art of Marie Spartali Stillman is curated by Jan Marsh and Margaretta Frederick. Watts Gallery is the only UK venue for this landmark exhibition, which travels from Delaware Art Museum.
