Courses and Practical Workshops
History of Art & Design Courses
Run by experts, these five week courses run throughout the year, with some including excursions to local heritage sites.
Led by professional designers and artists, our practical courses and workshops cover a range of fine art, design and craft relating to the collections and exhibitions.
Talks and Events
Talks & Lectures
Learn from experts at informative talks and lectures, taking place at the Artists' Village or locations such as the Art Workers' Guild in Guildford and Charterhouse School in Godalming. Recent speakers have included Giles Waterfield and Dr Tristram Hunt, MP.
Watts at Dusk
Enjoy our late night openings on the last Friday of the month as the Artists' Village stays open until 9pm. Watts Gallery, Watts Studios, the shop and The Tea Shop are all open late, with entertainment, craft activities and themed food and drink on site.
Watts Research Network
Discuss the latest Watts-related research with scholars, artists, researchers and staff at our free quarterly Research Network meetings. Get a glimpse of research being carried out by Watts Gallery and see archive material, then share ideas over a drink.
See artists and makers at work at our Artist in Residence Studio and the newly opened David Pike Conservation Studio. Attend an Open Studio or demonstration and see conservation in action with our de Laszlo Conservation Fellow.
Live performances are often schedule at Watts Gallery and in the grounds. We work in partnership with organisations to deliver these such as Guildford Shakespeare Company, Guildford International Music Festival and the Guildford Book Festival.
