The Big Issues Exhibition
28 February to 26 March 2017
Watts Contemporary Gallery
The Big Issues project was established on the beliefs of G F and Mary Watts in providing Art for All. The Wattses cared about issues still prevalent today such as homelessness, pollution, exploitation and unemployment. At the heart of their work was the belief that art could transform lives, and they campaigned to widen access to art for people in society with the least access to it.
This exhibition showcases art made by participants in the Big Issues outreach programme including prisoners at HMP Send, HMP/YOI Feltham and HMP Bronzefield, as well as young people from Surrey Youth Support Services and other Surrey-based community groups.
