Mary Wondrausch OBE, one of Britain's most respected ceramicists, returns to Watts Contemporary Gallery with a new exhibition of paintings and collages, created at her home in Brickfields in Compton.
Mary has been working with ceramics for over 35 years, and at 93 years old is still actively painting everyday. A graduate from West Surrey College of Art and Design, Mary is an honorary fellow of the Craft Potters' Association, and her work is included in the V&A Collection.
Her early career as an artist saw creating large-scale collage paintings, up to 4' x 9', and after taking up pottery she set up her own business in Godalming in 1974. In 2015, at the age of 92, Mary returned to painting, and many of the works in this exhibition are the result of this return to the medium.
