“Some light in the dull grey prison world” is how one artist described The Big Issues project. Bringing G.F. and Mary Watts’s vision of art for all to people who would otherwise struggle to access the arts, this exhibition includes art work by women prisoners at HMP Send and Bronzefield, male prisoners at HMP Coldingley, young people involved in the Surrey Youth Justice Service and adults from Street Level Arts and The Cellar in Godalming.
This inspirational exhibition clearly demonstrates the power of art to change lives and is a not-to-be-missed part of the Watts Gallery calendar. Many of the works of art are for sale and in past years, works have been purchased for public collections.
