Surrey Youth Justice Service
In 2010 Nathalie Roset, a former Watts Gallery Artist in Residence, took The Big Issues workshop programme to the Surrey Youth Justice Service (SYJS) working with young people who have been excluded from school. The programme ran weekly over one term, the young people developing art skills in different media, including photography, book making and clay work.
"…a welcoming environment and the support of staff and artists continue to enable young people in Surrey, to identify untapped potential and to develop new skills."

SYJS aims to prevent offending by children and young people aged 10-17. It works with young people and their families to reduce the risks associated with offending behaviour and works to strengthen protective factors in the lives of young people.
