Watts Gallery houses the studio collection of G F Watts OM RA, and includes works by his wife – Mary Watts - and other Victorian artists. Opened on 1 April 1904, just two months before Watts 's death, it is one of the few purpose-built picture galleries in the UK housing a single professional artist’s collection. Today, Watts Gallery still retains the beliefs upon which it was founded - that great art should be accessible to all.
