The Sculpture Gallery at Watts Gallery

‘The challenge at Watts Gallery is to preserve its quality of mystery and wonder, while preventing the building from physically falling to bits. It is a precious place, I know of nowhere in the world like it.’

Maev Kennedy,

Heritage Correspondent
The Guardian

One hundred years since it opened, the Grade II* listed Arts & Crafts building is at serious risk and without urgent support, will not survive. As runners-up in BBC Restoration Village 2006, the support for Watts Gallery was overwhelming. The Hope Appeal which seeks to raise £10m to secure the financial future of the gallery, to restore the building, conserve the collection, extend the education programme and establish Watts Gallery as a centre for the exploration of Victorian art, social history and craft.

The Hope Appeal has already raised over £1m in gifts and pledges and has secured an earmarked grant of £4.3m from the Heritage Lottery Fund. However, to unlock the HLF money, we need to raise a further £2m.

How You Can Help
We invite you to visit the Gallery and to consider supporting the Hope Appeal by becoming a:

Patron (annual gift of £500)

Gold Patron (annual gift of £1,000)

Corporate Sponsor (a tailor-made arrangement)

Your support for the protection of the collection and the restoration of this beautiful Gallery building, steeped in charm and nostalgia, is urgently needed. We welcome donations of all kinds and particularly encourage your use of Gift Aid. You may also wish to join our Friends organisation, become a volunteer or perhaps you are interested in adopting a work of art for conservation with our Adopt A Watts Scheme.
