This week, learn about For He Had Great Posessions, Watts's 1894 painting of the biblical story. This work was one of a group in which Watts expressed his hostility toward greed, therefore not only portraying a psychologically disturbed man, yet also capturing the viewer's attention with the rich fabric of his clothes.
