Watts Contemporary Gallery
Watts Gallery Trust's Director, Perdita Hunt, has been nominated for the Business Women in Surrey award.
Perdita's vision for Watts Gallery resulted in her co-ordinating a campaign to raise £11 million to restore Watts Gallery, as part of a Heritage Lottery funded project.
Today the Gallery attracts 60,000 visitors per annum and makes a significant contribution the local economy. The Learning Programme reaches out to prisoners, young offenders and other marginalised people, transforming expectations and self belief, and the Gallery also displays critically acclaimed temporary exhibitions with an extensive events programme.
Under Perdita's leadership Watts Gallery has transformed from an ailing liability into a model of social enterprise with a turnover of around £1.5 million.
