Paid Opportunity for Artists: Art & Action: Making Change in Victorian Britain
Deadline: Monday 30 November 2020
Watts Gallery – Artists' Village (WGAV) is pleased to announce a paid opportunity for an artist who is interested in participating in a collaborative project, which forms part of Watts Gallery Trust's winter exhibition Art & Action: Making Change in Victorian Britain (December 2020-21 March 2021).
Artist in Residence
The Watts Gallery - Artists' Village Artist in Residence scheme started in 2005 and sustains the heritage and ethos of Watts Gallery's founders to inspire emerging artists and creative practitioners. It was instigated by the generous support of Winsor & Newton and for the past three years has been supported by The Fenton Arts Trust.
Each year Watts Gallery Trust asks artists to apply for residencies in response to our exhibitions and the art and ideas of GF and Mary Watts. The artists also contribute to our events and the Art for All Learning and Outreach programme.
The Artists' Village is most grateful to the Heritage Lottery Fund, The Fenton Arts Trust and Winsor & Newton for making this scheme possible. Thank you also to the University for Creative Arts, the Poetry Society and the University of Surrey for their partnerships.
Watts Gallery Trust is committed to supporting artists and freelancers as much as is possible during the current Covid-19 crisis.
