Chaired by Abbie Latham

How have representations of the male nude changed in the last 100 years? Has this shaped how men feel they should look, behave and talk about their bodies? Who are the key artists and how have they used painting, photography and performance to explore the archetypal masculine ideal verses lived experience? How are ideas of beauty, strength, sensuality and desire explored in these works? Putting the male nude body under the microscope in art and culture since Tuke, this panel discussion will be led by co-curator Abbie Latham, in conversation with artist Nneka Uzoigwe and art historian Dr Andrew Stephenson.
