How do curators negotiate the interpretation and display of art that might challenge a contemporary audience? What are the processes to ensure that exhibitions are relevant, approachable and empathetic? How can issues of censorship and safeguarding be considered without compromising artistic or curatorial vision? In this open and honest conversation chaired by Dr Cicely Robinson, this panel will discuss the complexities and provocations of displaying historical works for contemporary audiences. Speakers include artist Matt Smith, and curator Jon Sleigh.
