Meet at Watts Gallery - Artists' Village
Join us for a special day in Sussex. Start the day with a visit to St Margaret of Antioch Church in Rottingdean and its seven stained glass windows, made by William Morris from the designs of the artist Sir Edward Burne-Jones and acknowledged to be some of their finest work. Enjoy lunch at a choice of cafes in the historic village, followed by a private tour of the nearby Roedean school.
Discover the wonderful connections between G F Watts and Roedean with the school's archivist, Jackie Sullivan. Watts was a founding member of the school and his adoptive daughter Lilian Chapman was educated there. His influence on the school — and on his protégé and Roedean's first Head of Art, Sylvia Lawrence — can be found everywhere from the school's art studio to the murals in the boarding houses.
