Surrey Unearthed is a programme of ten linked projects exploring the natural materials beneath our feet through sculpture, installation, film and poetry. Three artworks will feature in our woodlands:

Watts Gallery Woodlands
Bryn Hallett builds a sculptural woodland shelter for reflection from the natural materials of earth, clay, flint. Discover this artwork in the Watts Gallery Woodlands where it will slowly melt back to the earth over summer.
The Travelling Reading Room
Tuesday 3 July – Wednesday 4 July
Amie Rai creates a large-scale book without words that will bring groups together to consider the relationship between humans, nature and language. The Travelling Reading Room will appear in the Limnerslease Woodland.
From Humble Beginnings
Saturday 8 September – Sunday 7 October
Steven Edwards explores the natural material of clay, used locally throughout history as a building material. He will create a structure in the Limnerslease Woodland.
