Meet the Artist...

Louise Grundy is our Artist in Residence throughout the William Orpen exhibition. She primarily works in sculpture, creating layered paper portraits inspired by archival material and family history. Louise studied 3D Design at the University of Brighton and textile construction at City & Guilds. She has been a teacher and workshop leader for over twenty-five years and has previously worked for Surrey Youth Service and Hampshire Cultural Trust. Louise has been Artist in Residence at St Andrew's School, Cobham and St Joseph's Specialist School and College, Cranleigh, where she initiated practical training in art for teachers. The Ancestry Heads project started in 2016 and she has since created over 30 sculptural portraits for exhibition and private commissions.
