Accessibility statement

How accessible is our website?

At Watts Gallery – Artists' Village, we want everyone to be able to use our website. We are committed to providing a site that is accessible to the widest possible audience.

We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of www.wattsgallery.org.uk, www.shop.wattsgallery.org.uk, www.tickets.wattsgallery.org.uk and www.donate.wattsgallery.org.uk

If you have any issues whilst using our website, we’ll work to resolve them. Please email us at info@wattsgallery.org.uk

We aim to be compliant with guidance from the w3 Web Standards for Accessibility (WCAG 2.1) and legal duties under the Equality Act 2010.

On our website, we make sure that:

  • Information is presented in a logical order
  • The website works without CSS or images, we try to include alt text on all our images
  • You can reach and use every part of the site without a mouse
  • You can resize and adjust the text

Areas we are still working on:

Whilst our website strives to adhere to the accepted guidelines, legislation and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website.

The specific areas where we are currently working to achieve better accessibility are:

  • Video and audio transcripts
  • Audio captions
  • Audio descriptions
  • PDF documents
  • High contrast and font size toggle buttons
  • Improved access guide
  • Inclusion of in-screen signing in videos
  • Creation of BSL versions of key pages

We are aware our other sites: www.shop.wattsgallery.org.uk, www.tickets.wattsgallery.org.uk and www.donate.wattsgallery.org.uk may not adhere to best practice accessibility guidelines. We are actively working on improving these websites.

On www.tickets.wattsgallery.org.uk, we know that some parts of this website are not fully accessible. We are working on:

  • Navigating most of the website using screen reading software
  • Modifying the size of text, or the line height or spacing of text
  • Skipping to the main content when using a screen reader
  • Implementing a search feature across the site
  • Improving access to and understandability of the availability calendar
  • Ensuring that the website can be accessed on as many devices as possible

Our commitment

We are committed to inclusive design. We continue our commitment to testing our websites with a broad range of audiences.
