Watts Gallery Trust (“Watts Gallery – Artists' Village”, “we” or “us”) whose address is Down Lane, Compton, Guildford Surrey GU3 1DQ, is responsible for the website.

These terms will apply each time you access any part of the website or use any content available on the website. By using and/or accessing the website, you are deemed to accept our terms and conditions of use. Please read them carefully. If you do not accept these terms and conditions of use, you should not use the website.

Our terms and conditions of use may change from time to time. Please review them regularly. If you continue to use the website after a change has been made to the terms and conditions of use you are deemed to have accepted it.

Use of the website/s

You agree to only use the website and any content on the website for lawful purposes and in such a way that does not prevent, restrict or otherwise prejudice the use of the website by anyone else.

Using content from the websites for non-commercial purposes

Content in which Watts Gallery Trust owns copyright (or related rights) may be used free of charge for non-commercial purposes.

Watts Gallery Trust considers non-commercial use to be any use that is not intended for or directed towards commercial advantage of monetary compensation.

The following non-commercial use of Watts Gallery Trust copyright content featured on the website are permitted, except where other terms may apply:

  • Using Watts Gallery Trust copyright owned content and works in the public domain for non-commercial research, private study, criticism and review, or for the purpose of teaching and instruction within an educational establishment
  • Downloading Watts Gallery Trust copyright audio visual content for non-commercial offline listening or viewing
  • Downloading and printing of Watts Gallery Trust copyright learning content for non-commercial educational use

If you wish to use content from the Watts Contemporary Gallery, please contact shop@wattsgallery.org.uk and seek permission from the artists.

Removal of material and access to the website

Watts Gallery Trust shall have the right to refuse to allow you access to the website or any part of it at any time and for any reason without giving you any advance notice.

Watts Gallery Trust shall have the right at any time and for any reason to remove from the website any material posted, uploaded, emailed or otherwise transmitted by you without giving you any advance notice.


Whilst effort has been taken to ensure that the website is free from viruses, Watts Gallery Trust gives no warranties that it is indeed free from viruses and you are responsible for ensuring that you have installed adequate virus checking software.

Watts Gallery Trust shall not be responsible for any viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, restrict, destroy, limit the functionality of or compromise the integrity of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment or other material transmitted with or as part of the website or any other internet site.

From time to time, we may run competitions which may be publicised on the website. These competitions will have specific terms and conditions and you will be provided with a link to them as part of the entry process.


Whilst every effort has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the information on the website, no warranty is given as to its accuracy or completeness.

Watts Gallery Trust cannot guarantee that you will have uninterrupted access to the website.

Notwithstanding anything else in these terms and conditions of use, to the fullest extent permitted by law Watts Gallery Trust excludes all warranties (whether express or implied) and all liability to you in respect of the website, its content and your use of it.

Law and jurisdiction

These terms and conditions of use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in relation to the website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If any of these terms or conditions of use should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, it shall be deemed deleted and the remaining terms and conditions of use shall survive and continue to be binding and enforceable.

Ticket Terms and Conditions

Tickets are valid only for the date and time (if applicable) stated. Please check your ticket(s) and/or confirmation email on the receipt as mistakes cannot always be rectified.

Prices displayed on the site are subject to change without notice.

If purchasing a concession priced ticket(s), this includes Members (Friend, Patron, Exhibition Circle and Adopt a Watts), associated memberships (e.g. Art Fund, Historic Houses, Museums Association, English Heritage members etc) and promotional tickets, please ensure that the person the ticket(s) is intended for meets the correct criteria and brings proof of eligibility on the day of attendance.

Please show your ticket or confirmation email on your smart phone at the Visitors Centre (Shop) upon arrival. During your visit please retain your ticket(s) safely for production on request by staff.

Cancellations and refunds

Watts Gallery Trust reserves the right to alter the advertised arrangements for any exhibition or event, cancel any exhibition or event and/or close the exhibition or event without notice.

Should cancellation of any event, be necessary, Watts Gallery Trust will attempt to contact all customers who have booked tickets in advance to arrange exchange or refund of tickets. This contact will be in the form of email for online customers, so customers are advised to check their email inbox before visiting to avoid an unnecessary journey should an event be cancelled. If an alternative visit date cannot be arranged, we will then refund the full price paid, including the payment processing fees, to customers.

For general admission tickets: if you are unable to attend on the day you have booked, please contact us 48 hours before your booking and we will endeavour to accommodate your request or amend your booking online.

For event tickets: as a charity, if you are unable to attend the event we are unable to issue refunds due to the costs associated with running events. Full refunds will be issued if Watts Gallery has to cancel an event.

Returns and refunds


If you need to cancel your order before it has been despatched, please contact us as soon as possible: email shop@wattsgallery.org.uk or phone 01483 813593. If your order has already been despatched, please follow our returns policy below.

Returns and Refunds

Under the Distance Selling Regulations, if you buy merchandise online or by phone, your consumer rights entitle you to a full refund if you request one in writing within 14 working days of receiving your items. This includes any delivery charge but does not include the cost of returning the item.

We want you to be delighted with your online purchase but if for any reason you have changed your mind, or your purchase is not suitable we will happily offer you an exchange or refund within 28 days of purchase. If there’s a problem with your item (if we’ve made a mistake, or if your order arrives damaged) please try to let us know immediately by emailing shop@wattsgallery.org.uk, and we’ll arrange a replacement or refund for you as soon as possible.

Please note: The postage costs to return the unwanted goods will not be reimbursed.

We recommend that you use a recorded delivery service or obtain a Certificate of Posting, as the parcel remains your responsibility until it reaches Watts Gallery- Artists' Village.

If you are returning a limited edition or unique contemporary artwork purchased online, you will need to return this using our approved courier so please contact shop@wattsgallery.org.uk or phone 01483 813593 so we can assist you on arranging this. We can only accept returns of contemporary artwork within 14 days of purchase.

Please note that we cannot offer a refund or exchange on earrings, face coverings and food items purchased online.

Once we’ve received your return we will process your refund, replacement, or exchange as quickly as possible. If you’re owed a refund, we’ll issue this using the same payment details that were used to purchase the items. We aim to process all returns within 1-2 weeks. Sometimes the refund could take up to an additional 10 working days to show in your account, so please bear with us.

If there’s a problem with your item (if we’ve made a mistake, or if your order arrives damaged or faulty) please try to let us know immediately by emailing shop@wattsgallery.org.uk and we’ll arrange a replacement or refund for you as soon as possible. For any damaged or faulty goods we will reimburse you the cost of any postage to return the item to us.

Our returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Delivery information

Delivery Times

We aim to deliver within:

UK – 1 week
Europe – 2-4 weeks
Rest of world – 2-4 weeks

If the estimated delivery time frame for each item has ended and you’re still waiting for something from your order, please contact us and we’ll investigate for you.

Delivery costs

For most products we currently offer free standard delivery on all UK orders over £100. Our other delivery costs are as follows:

UK – £4.95 per order
European Union – £15 per order
Rest of world (including non-EU European countries) £30 per order

Contemporary artwork – works can be collected from Watts Gallery, Compton, GU3 1DQ. We can arrange delivery however the cost will vary depending on the destination, size, weight and value of the artwork. Some works cannot be delivered due to their size or fragility. Pick-up - You can opt for ‘Local pick up’ to avoid paying delivery and to collect from Watts Gallery, Compton, GU3 1DQ

Duties, Tax and Service Charges

If your delivery address is not within the United Kingdom, you may be subject to import duties, taxes and delivery service charges, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. You will need to pay any additional charges for customs clearance. Please note that your country’s customs office may also apply a small administration fee to each delivery. Please be aware that customs policies vary widely from country to country, and we advise you to contact your local customs office for further information. Please be aware that cross-border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by custom authorities.


What payment methods do you accept?
We accept the following payment methods: Mastercard, Visa. Unfortunately, at the moment we can’t accept gift vouchers online.

What if my product isn't available at time of order?
When we receive an order, we will despatch all the items that are available from stock. Any remaining items are despatched once they have all arrived in stock. If you require any items on your order more urgently, please contact us by emailing shop@wattsgallery.org.uk or by calling 01483 813593

Has my order been despatched?

Once you have placed your order, you will receive an email informing you that your order has been despatched. If your order hasn’t arrived within the advised timescales, please email shop@wattsgallery.org.uk or call 01483 813593 (Monday to Sunday 10am –5pm).

Can I change my shipping address?
If you need to change your delivery details, please get in touch with us by emailing shop@wattsgallery.org.uk with your order number and details as soon as you can. If your order isn’t already out for delivery, we’ll get the address changed.

Can I collect my online order on my visit?

You can select the pick-up in store store option at checkout

Do you cover return postage?

We don’t usually cover the cost of returning an item unless it is faulty, or we have made a mistake.

Can I return my items?

Yes, you can return items within 28 days if you have changed your mind or are not completely satisfied. Please see our returns and refunds information.
