This summer, Watts Gallery is taking part in the Big Butterfly Count, the UK's biggest butterfly survey. Running from 17 July to 9 August, this nationwide citizen science project helps track the health of our environment, one butterfly at a time.
All you need is 15 minutes and a sunny spot. Drop into our Visitor Centre to pick up an identification sheet, then head out into our grounds to see how many species you can spot. Look out for our butterfly spotting board, back by popular demand, and keep an eye out for two giant butterflies making an appearance around the gallery this summer.
No booking required. Just turn up, grab a sheet, and start counting.
