Join Penelope Hines, Collections Curator for a talk on a selection of works on paper from the collection. We will examine how looking at works on paper enhances our understanding of paintings by George Frederic Watts. As well as the considerations for displaying works on paper in the gallery space.

11 June

Join Penelope Hines, Collections Curator for a 30-minute tour at Limnerslease. The Arts & Crafts home of George Frederic and Mary Watts, was designed by Ernest George (1839-1922). This tour will focus on the surviving late 19th century woodwork and furniture, with some discussion of the lost interiors. This is an informal session, with the opportunity for discussion and questions.

Join Penelope Hines, Collection Curator, for an engaging exploration of the newly re-displayed portraiture in the historic galleries. Discover the stories behind the portraits in the collection, how they have been throughly curated, and gain insight into Watt's artistic process when painting portraits.

Explore the Arts and Crafts textiles and ceramics on display in the house, including object produced by Morris & Co., designs by Philip Webb, and works by other leading Arts and Crafts designers.
