About Earth Day: Wild at Watts

Saturday 22 April

10.30am – 4pm

Join us for an Earth Day Celebration.

Discover collaborative artworks nestled within our beautiful woodlands, created by local primary school pupils, who took part in the Art Fund’s Wild Escape project with artist Anna-Marie Garrett.

Discover the plants and animals that live all around us. Come along to connect to and learn about our Surrey countryside; take part in walking-talking survey tours, fun, creative activities indoors and out, including Drop in and Draw plein air sketching.

Join Artist Anna-Marie Garrett to make a badge, at our drop-in activity from 10.30am - 4pm. Take inspiration from Pendants and natural symbols within the Mary Watts artworks in Limnerslease, to collage your own badge.

Meet our Head Gardener Chris Sharples, between 10.30am - 2.30pm to get tips and tricks of how you can make your outdoor spaces more wildlife friendly.

We will be also joined by Community Orchard Project South East (COPSE) who will be at Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village between 11.30am and 2pm. A chance to learn more about our Orchard and the plants and wildlife that we are surrounded by. Reptile walks will be taking place at 11.30am and 1.30pm. Join Claire from COPSE on a Blossom Walk through our very own Orchard at 12.30pm. Meet in Limnerslease Woodland next to Bench.

The Wild Escape is made possible by lead support from Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants, with additional support from Art Fund
