About Sculpted caricature masterclass with Jethro Crabb

Saturday 27 September 2025

10am - 4pm

Join sculptor Jethro Crabb for a unique one-day masterclass exploring the expressive art of sculpted caricature. Jethro is a traditionally trained figurative sculptor, a graduate of Wimbledon School of Art, and an expert in both realistic and stylised portraiture. His distinctive work spans private and corporate commissions—including pieces for Blenheim Palace and The Official Formula 1 Exhibition—as well as character sculpting for the iconic television series Spitting Image and waxworks for Madame Tussauds.

Drawing on his passion for caricature, Jethro creates original, characterful works that blend humour, observation, and technical skill.

In this immersive, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to capture personality through form—accentuating key features and revealing the essence of your subject. Using coloured, tactile plasticine, you’ll sculpt your own expressive caricature portrait to take home.

The workshop coincides with an exhibition of works by one of Britain’s leading political cartoonists, Peter Brookes in the Contemporary Gallery—providing rich inspiration.

Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to enhance your sculpting skills, this creative day promises expert guidance, playful exploration, and a memorable artistic experience.
