Join acclaimed ceramicist Rich Miller for an exclusive masterclass exploring slab-building techniques to create your own distinctive candlesticks. In this small-group session, Rich will guide participants through his creative process, sharing practical techniques, material knowledge and insights drawn from his professional practice.
This is a rare opportunity to learn directly from Rich in an intimate setting, receive individual guidance and develop your confidence working with clay. The day also includes a delicious lunch, offering time to relax, connect with fellow participants and continue conversations about ceramics and creative practice.
Participants will also have the opportunity to view Rich Miller’s exhibition Fired Legacies: The Ceramic World of Rich Miller and hear more about the ideas behind his work.
In his first major solo exhibition, ceramicist Rich Miller – a judge on The Great Pottery Throwdown – explores his own heritage alongside the complex legacy of British colonial history. Through the medium of clay, the exhibition examines themes of migration, trade, labour and identity that continue to shape contemporary Britain. Inspired by historical objects and personal narratives, Rich’s work invites reflection and conversation about our shared past while presenting beautifully crafted, individually made ceramic pieces.
