About Fired Legacies: The Ceramic World of Rich Miller

16 April – 28 June 2026

In his first major solo exhibition, ceramicist Rich Miller (judge on Channel 4's The Great Pottery Throwdown) delves into his own heritage and an exploration of British colonial history, examining the complexities of migration and the lasting cultural influences woven into the fabric of British society. Through the medium of clay, this exhibition unearths the narratives of trade, labour and identity that have shaped contemporary Britain. His work - inspired by objects and stories from the past - aims to prompt challenging conversations about our shared history, as well as presenting beautifully crafted individually-made works.

This exhibition explores the intersections between personal cultural history and the enduring weight of the British Empire. Through the medium of clay, this exhibition unearths the complex narratives of trade, labour and identity that have shaped contemporary British society. Using a mix of personal and historical narratives, Rich interrogates the ghosts of Empire that continue to inhabit our landscapes and social structures today.
