Untold Stories: British Art from Private Collections, From the Pre-Raphaelites to Sargent offers an exciting opportunity to see great works of art which are normally kept behind closed doors. Art collectors with a connection to the Artists' Village have very generously allowed us to borrow some of their private treasures.
Victorian and early 20th-century British oil paintings and watercolours will be brought together in a unique and fascinating feast for the eyes. Among the artists included are Pre-Raphaelites Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Edward Burne-Jones and William Holman Hunt, along with other great figures such as John Singer Sargent.
Lenders will take this opportunity to share not only their favourite works of art but also the extraordinary stories that accompany them. Untold Stories offers a very rare insight into the private world of art collecting. Look behind the closed doors of private collections, and uncover the personal history of paintings rarely in the public eye.
