The Tea Shop building was originally used as a showroom for the Compton Pottery, which was established on this site by Mary Watts in 1901. The pottery became well known for its large ornamental pots, bird baths, garden ornaments and sundials. Famous stockists included Liberty of London.Today the Tea Shop retains much of its original charm, and we pride ourselves on offering freshly prepared food in a friendly and unique environment.
The Tea Shop provides fresh, English seasonal food made on the premises and served by our friendly staff. The Welsh rarebit is what we are famous for, but we also offer a selection of homemade soups, sandwiches and salads. Check out the daily specials on the chalk board.
The Tea Shop has full wheelchair access and welcomes assistance dogs. We also provide free wi-fi internet access. Families are welcome, and we offer our younger diners a children's menu along with fun colouring activities to keep them entertained. Baby changing facilities and high chairs are available. Please ask a member of the Tea Shop team if you need assistance.
