About Summer holidays

Wednesday to Sunday, 22 July to 31 August 2026

Taking inspiration from Clytie and artworks exploring light and nature, families are invited to help grow a beautiful, collaborative sunflower installation in the grounds. With each visit, you can create your own sunflower to add to the display and watch it flourish and grow across the summer holidays.

Alongside the installation, enjoy a range of free, drop-in activities every opening day. Dress up and step into the sunshine, explore hands-on making and sketching with our art trolley or in the drop-in sketching studio, or have fun with bubbles and giant games on the lawn. Discover the Verey Playwood and enjoy delicious treats from the teashop.

Whether you stay for a short visit or make a day of it, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Come back again and again to see how the sunflower field grows. All activities are free with gallery admission and available on every opening day.

For those looking for something more, additional workshops can be booked for an extra cost, see our workshops page for details.
