Join us this February Half Term for a riot of vibrant colour and creativity! Inspired by our exhibition Women of Influence: The Pattle Sisters and their connections to India, we invite families to play, explore, and make art together in a celebration bursting with festival spirit.

What's on this half term?

Create a giant collaborative artwork

FAQ's

Ticket rules
  • Everyone attending the family day must have a ticket (adults and children).
  • Every child (under 18yrs old) booking for a family day requires an adult to accompany them.
  • If you have a baby who is not going to engage with the activities/take up a seat within our art studios, they do not need a ticket.
What age is this event best suited for?

This event is best suited for children under the age of 12, but everyone is welcome.

Where can I park?

There are car parks on both sides of our site, at Watts Gallery and Limnerslease: Artists' Home, follow the parking signs on your arrival. There is a short walk of approximately five minutes between the two sides of our site. A £1 parking charge applies. Parking and Blue Badge spaces are available at Watts Gallery until 5.30pm.

Please note that there is a short uphill walk to Limnerslease. Visitors with access needs can be dropped off at the top of the road before parking, please ask at the Visitor Centre for more information.

Prams and buggies

Prams and buggies can be taken into the galleries at Watts Gallery or left in the loggia. There is space to store pushchairs in the Foyle Lobby at Watts Studios. Watts Chapel is located at the top of a steep hill and accessed by a cobbled path, which can be a barrier for prams and buggies. There is currently no lift access to Watts Contemporary Gallery. The Watts Café and Visitor Centre are fully accessible.

Baby changing and feeding

Accessible toilets are located at Watts Gallery, the Tea Shop and Limnerslease: Artists' Home. Baby change facilities are located in the toilet block outside the Tea Shop and at Limnerslease. If you find yourself caught out during your visit to us, please ask at the Visitor Centre for our ‘Caught Out’ box and we will be able to provide you with nappies, wet wipes, breast pads and cotton wool as well as a couple of other helpful bits.

Child-friendly eating

Our Café offers a children’s menu from 10.30am to 3.30pm, both to enjoy in the Café and as takeaway. Across our site there are also a number of places where your family can picnic.
